Resolution 118.  (Likely Not-Support)

That the BCTF put a motion to the BCFED and the CLC to organize a 30-minute walk out of all workers for the next possible global climate strike.

I may be willing to walk out; however, we are currently navigating our own members aren't enthusiastic to consider loss of pay as a result of a strike to improve our bargaining.  I don't think our members would appreciate us voting for them to walk out and face possible discipline.

If our own members are not likely to support a 30 minute walk out, we can't ask two other organizations to encourage other workers to walk out.

My eyes are wide open to climate issues, but my sense is if this went to a membership vote, it would get less than 50% in favour.  (This is my perception prior to hearing the debate at the microphones.)
